To be Doulos Logi

To be Doulos Logi ??

IF you haven't heard about this yet it is only a short time before you do. I shared the idea of a book that I was writing with several friends. In the story the hero is a group of sold out Christians that call themselves the doulos logi or (servants of the word). As I shared the story it was clear that God was doing more than just bringing a story out of me he was bring something new out, something that looked total different from the church and something that would take more commitment and more abandonment to Him. So as I look at the future of blogging and the future of the group of men that I meet with I would like to take the time to explain and the time to examine the idea behind doulos logi.
To be the servant of the word is a very serious thing. It means that I as an individual no longer have any other right then the right to be called a son of God. (1 jon. 3:1-3) It means that I must look at the kingdom and begin to ask myself. What is in the best interest of the kingdom of God? Notice that that was not, what is in the best interest of my church. It means that the all American dream must be put to the side and the dreams of the kingdom must come through. Often we confuse the bill of rights given to us as Americans as the bill of rights that we have as Christians. They are of course very different and sometimes adversarial things. The American rights are based on the ability to get material things. The Christian rights are to be seated with Him in the heavenly.
It is these two conflicting views that have started a move to God alone. It is not that doulos logi is anti-American rather it is pro Christ, and more important pro following Christ. I could of course tell you all the things that I find wrong with America and American Christianity but the truth is that I would defend my country with my life if necessary. Rather I would like to explore what being a servant of the word is really about. I would like to take a look at the move of God happening right here in Spencer Iowa a move of God that is producing a group of warriors that are questing to take on the look of Christ rather than being a imposter in the pew. But that is a different blog and mind yourself imposter in the pew is a upcoming book so don't steal it from me,,,,, thanks .
So over the next few blogs I am going to be looking at doulos logi (servant of the word). I urge you to write back and let me know what you think about it. Get ready to change into doulos logi.

God bless and good questing.

Hello there, My hope is that this blog will set up discussion all over the world that leads us closer to God. As this is my first blog on this site I would encourage you to respond and help my make it better. I want this blog to start us on a journey to God so I will start in Honduras of all places. A year ago almost to the day I was in the rain forests of Honduras. If you look at a map it would be in the far south of the country. There I got the chance to see many different people all serving the same God. It was then that the Lord began to move upon me to look at the kingdom with different eyes.
Most of America is content to move along life with out any really thought to the kingdom of God but if we look around us we will See that it is the kingdom the the Bible talks about. I have over the last few years asked my self about the missing parts of the Bible in my own life. For example were is justice in my life were is the caring for the poor and were is the God that I see in the Bible. It was in Honduras that I began to see things very different.
I have food aplenty in my house they have nothing in there's I have money cars and success as the world defines it they have nothing. Yet i saw a service to the kingdom that amazed me. The Hondurans Christians only looked to benefit the kingdom not themselves and not the church that they might go to they just looked at the kingdom. So this is were I start looking to further the kingdom. Because of this thought you can imagine that my church looks different then 'Normal American Church."
That being said it is time for me and others to move farther down the road of the kingdom. So I start a new adventure writing what the Lord is moving on me over the next few weeks. God Bless and good questing.
